SHANI : Scientific Meaning and Story
According to the Puranas SHANI was the sun besotted by Soorya and Vishwakarma’s daughter Sanghya. As the Lord Soorya was very bright and Sandhya could not even look at him so she cloned herself as Chhaya and thereafter Soorya and Chhaya begot a son named Shani. Shani was dark/black in colour because his mother was Chhaya. (Shadow). This does not sound logical as how can SUN produce a child with a shadow. As I have mentioned earlier on several occasions that the Sages of yore would explain great scientific facts in an Alaankarik form scientific facts as a story for easy understanding, and then explain the real scientific meanings to the deserving students. The actual meaning of the story is a follows.
Etymology of words:-
1.) Soorya – Shoodh as per Dhatupath Bhawadigan is Creation SUN
2.) Sanyog – Yuj – Bhandhane as per Dhatupath Krayadigan Meaning Combine/Together Combining of ENERGY PARTICLES
3.) Chaayaa – Chad – Upvaarnane as per Dhatupath Churadigan Meaning Cover CHHAAYA = SHADOW=COVER
4.) Shani – Shun – Gatow as per Dhatupath Tudadiga Meaning Motion, Speed Motion, Speed
5.) Vishva – Vishati Sarvatra sa Vishva as per Unaadikosh 1/151 – Cosmos Cosmos
6.) Karma – Dukrinj – Karne – as per Dhatupath Tanaaday Meaning Activity – to do
Activity to do It is to be noted that CHAYYA = SHADOW is a result or an effect of Chaaya. ONE SAYS “GO AND STAND UNDER THE COVER OF A TREE WHICH PROVIDES A SHADOW. The etymology of it as per (3) above is a COVER = TREE is also a cover.
The actual meaning of this story is:- All the Energy particles when integrate/combine (Sanyog) under an overall COVER (Chaayaa) a motion starts (Shani) and that activity (Karma) results in the formation of the COSMOS (vishva) See the Beauty of the sages of yore such tremendous scientific facts told in an Alaankarik form to make it easy to understand and then explaining the scientific meaning.
