A path is a path only if it reaches somewhere
If mere walking completed the journey called life then each one of us would have already reached our destination since we all have been walking for ages; not walking rather running, giving up our entire life to it. But strangely, very few in millions ever reach fulfilling the goal of life. What kind of traveling is this that never reaches? What kind of living is this which is making our life so dry, so deprived as if dead. What kind of existence is this which appears to be non-existing. A path is a path only if it reaches somewhere. If a journey does not take you to your destination it is not apt to call it a journey. Call it wandering because it definitely cannot be called walking. Mere walking does not create a path because unless a path leads to a destination it cannot become a path. Only those who tread consciously will cease to wander and reach their destination. And those who awaken need not even walk and they reach because awakening itself is their destination.
If a journey does not take you to your destination it is not apt to call it a journey
The second way of living is to travel the journey of life with awareness, emphasizing on witnessing rather than the act of walking, focusing on peace rather than power.
Pay some attention to yourself and examine whether your life too is moving in circles in a repetitive manner. Think whether what you are doing today is exactly what you had done yesterday and will again be doing tomorrow. Break this vicious cycle and step out of it because this is not life. This way of living is like slowly silently moving towards death. Life is refreshing. Every single moment of life is new, lively, blooming; just that we are unable to become new.
Think for a moment whether this way of life in itself is adequate, whether it is a start; whether it is the end or a beginning; whether I am a seed or a tree. If presently what you are was enough, you would have been blissful but your restlessness is pointing that you are not. Something is slipping away, something has been lost, something that should have been is missing. Wakening is essential because one who has awakened to his true self automatically steps on the right path. Self knowledge itself gives birth to righteousness and then traveling itself becomes the goal and knowing becomes the path. Ultimate truth in fact is that ‘Awakening itself is the destination’ !
