CASTE-DYNASTY : VASTNESS OF VEDIC BHAASHA
There is a Yajur Veda Mantra which states :
Brahmanosya Mukhamasid Bahu Rajanyah Kritah.
Uru Tadasya Yadvaishyah Padbyam Shudro Ajayata. (Yajur Veda 31.11)
Normal Meaning: – Brahmana (the man of knowledge) was its (society’s) mouth (Mukh). Its two arms Bahu were the Kshyatriya (the ruling man). Its two thighs (Uru) (or the stomach) were the VAISHYA (the man of trade) and out of its feet were made the shudra (the working man).
Real Meaning: – The above mantra has been used to explain the composition of the society for perfect functioning. That is how the caste system was enunciated.
The basic Vedic ethos was correct but as time went by this was used for creating a terrible caste system totally against the Vedic Ethos.
Let us analyze
The word VARN etymology is to CHOOSE DP – KRAYAADIGAN VRINJ = VARNE DP- 1557. The girl also puts the VARMALA on her husband to she chooses. It is her prerogative.
A scholar, learned person the BRAHAMAAN orates speaks and imparts knowledge hence normal meaning MUKHA (Mouth).
A KSHATRIYA is supposed to protect and bind not only his family , nation even the COSMOS so ARMS – (Bahu = Bandhane)
He protects and binds the society
As far the vaishya is concerned he is the keeper of the wealth of the society for its proper use (in biology it is the fat of the stomach, which comes into use when one falls ill and cannot take food and is getting weak.)
However, the word used in Vaishya is URU. The word Uru means to spread- vyaaptow
So he has to earn and spread/give/donate this money to the upkeep of the people and society and not hoard it. Make good use of it so that it benefits all mankind.
Finally you come to Shoodra – FEET
The role of the Shudra is a derivative of root Shuchir Pooteebhaye Dhatupath Dawadigan. Unaadikosh 2/19 that is what purifies etymologically “Shochateeti Shoodra” that what purifies is shoodra.
As time went by this aspect was demeaned which resulted in things like SCHEDULE CASTS, DALITS, HARIJANS etc. thus creates HAVOC and the results can be seen today. This was totally against the Vedic Ethos.
One must understand even the kidneys, heart vessels, are shoodra. If they do not clean you die.
Why feet for Shoodra ?
Feet denotes motion/progress
Pad is Gatow means motion Dhatupath Diwadigan
The whole society rests on it and progresses.
At another place symbol of shoodra is a chakra/a wheel/again motion progress.
Take an example…
A person might be very learned very strong and healthy and is very rich but is a cripple and cannot stand or move.
He is incomplete/damaged as such he is a failure.
This holds good for all the above function (VARN). If one of the varn is missing one has a problem, so also for society.
So, it means all the 4 VARNA/Castes are equally important for society.
Let us now examine a malpractice in name of cast perpetuated for thousand of years after the Rishis and Scholars were gone .
A child BORN in a certain cast say a Brahmin will be a Brahmin irrespective of his mental level, character, and knowledge. That means if you are born in a certain VARN. You stay in it.
This is totally incorrect as Varna means to choose
Example:– A boy born in say a KSHATRIYA family wants to start a business. He certainly can as he chooses to do business so he becomes a VAISHYA.
A Shoodra/Vaishya who is very intelligent wants to go for higher studies and want to teach there is nothing to PROHIBIT him as he can CHOOSE and will become a BRAHMIN etc.
So basically the VARN SYSTEM was very scientific. Each person could choose his/her profession depending on his/her likes and capabilities and was not looked down upon.
In view of the above there is no mention of DALITS/schedule cast/Harijans in the Vedas. It is time the Hindu society woke up and go back to its Vedic ethos and you will find all this Hulaballow, of person of low caste/Dalits etc, who are even not allowed to go temples etc will vanished.
Backward will not be a basis caste or religion. It will depend on a person’s financial position and if deserving will be helped irrespective of cast/religion.
Take an Example a bright child who has not the resources for higher education the government will give the child financial help irrespective of his caste and religion etc.
If this is accepted.
All this acrimony will vanish and peace will prevail.
DYNASTY
History is full of kings/leaders being appointed to rule India on the basis of their capabilities character, knowledge etc and not because they were born in a ruling family that means DYNASTY.
Take an example:
- Raja Bharat had many sons but were not fit to rule so he selected a commoner named SHANTANU because he was very capable, intelligent etc. he was appointed as the Ruler of India.
- Take Chandra Gupta Maurya The rulers of that time were Nandvanshi. They led a life of proscumity and lavish spending
The great Chanakya could not accept this sort of a Ruler. He picked up a common boy who was bright intelligent and Groomed him (He was a shoodra) and he became one of the most illustrious Kings of recent times Chandra Gupta Maurya.
From the above you will see that there was no dynastic Rule in the Vedic Ethos. The Vedas even mention the qualities of a person who can be fit to become a king and a ruler.
Now Let us look dispassionately at India of recent times.
For about last 70 years we have been ruled by a DYNASTY.
It started with Nehru, though Sardar Patel was the unanimous choice, but Gandhiji prevailed upon others and made Nehru as Prime Minister.
Follow this with Indira Gandhi though they were better experienced people like Kamraj, Jagjivan Ram etc (I am only looking into Congress). See what happened and one should never forget that emergency was imposed by her
This was followed by her son Rajiv, who was a gentleman but just a pilot with no experience of politics. You had a leader like Pranab Mukherjee, who was fit to be a Prime Minister, but was not considered and overlooked and Rajiv Gandhi was made the Prime Minister.
This was followed by a remote control rule by Sonia Gandhi through Man Mohan Singh and now again all efforts are being made to promote her son as a Prime Ministerial candidate, although there are others in the Congress Party more deserving like Scindia, Sachin Pilot etc.
This is called A DYNASTIC RULE. One can see where it has landed India.
In contrast you have Mr. Modi, a common man with no dynastic background and none to follow, chosen by masses and see where India has reached with so many progressive actions being taken to make the country as one of the most vibrating nation of the world. However there are many things which still require his attention for improvement but one must understand that he has had only four years out of the 70 years before him. it is bound to take time.
Having said this.
I have already said on many occasions that Vedas are Vast. Its Bhaasha was vast flexible and subject oriented, while Sanskrit, which was derived from it was restrictive and hence unfortunately mantras translated in Sanskrit of hymns and mantras made them sound illogical, unscientific and at times obscene.
See the vastness of the Vedic Bhaasha. If one was to translate the above mantra as a scientific subject this very mantra illustrates the Vastness of the Vedic Bhaasha.
It can be used to illustrate the system of society and also the creation of the COSMOS.
This is given below.
For the growth of creation and cosmos the following is required.
The disintegration and then integration which denotes Mukh (Mouth) etymology of this word is “Khanati anena iti”. The root is Khanu Avadarne DHatupath Bhawadigan Split and Muda is prefixed and it becomes Mukha Unaadikosh 5/20.
Brahman Mukh an organ or implement or a system of splitting or fissuring.
For example:- An atom disintegrates and then creates similarly the sperm splits then creates.
The other aspect is:-
(KSHATRIYA)= Bahu = (Bandhane) Unaadikosh 1/27
Binding of energy particles
Vaishyah = Vish Praveshne Dhatupath Tudaadigan = URU = means “Uŗņoti aachhaadayati”, and Vistreet that what covers all over is Uru like skin, with fat, which covers the body all over. (Uņaadikoşa Pratham Paad/31). Cosmic space also is called Uru because it envelops or covers stars and planets and galaxies etc
The energy permeates into the matter
Shudra = pad = Gatow Dhatupath Diwadigan Feet Motion
When the Bound energy particles permeate, and motion starts, in the inert matter then only the cosmos is created.
