Christmas Moments : “They taught me the real meaning of Celebrations” – Kennedy
My parents never celebrated birthdays or anything ever but the big event for which we used plan for the whole year is Christmas! They always had a party for family and friends on Christmas. We children used wait for this whole year! It was just not just the feast but the dance songs, gifts the money we got from the relatives everything excited us!

But year 2012 was different, I joined the Job staying away from family Chennai. But that Christmas was different! That year we didn’t have the ritualistic party at home but instead mother arranged the Christmas party at the Senior Citizens home. I wasn’t excited and definitely not my younger sister either. We went to the Home after the Mass, looking at the sick and old people was not our idea of celebrations, we were so disappointed. But that day changed my life!

There was one man, John who could barely stand but when we started dancing and singing, he brought himself up and just smiled and danced his heart out! Looking at him my heart swelled with joy! Those old people danced and sang with us! My soul rejoiced!!! And they taught me the real meaning of sharing and the celebration of the birth our LORD!!
And since then we do twice a year jam sessions with them!
