Corona Warriors : Sadhu Vaswani Mission Serves the Lepers

Pune. 6th April 2020, seva preparations at the Sadhu Vaswani Mission started early on, with volunteers making hampers of grocery essentials including dal, rice, cooking oil etc.

7th April, in the early hours of the dawn, 4 vehicles left for the Lepers Colony in Kondhwa. They were loaded with rations for 400 families — 1500 people. Volunteers, maintaining due protocol of social distancing and hygiene served at the colony. Rations distributed included — rice, dal, cooking oil, wheat flour, sugar, tea, suji and poha. While the volunteers were moved at their state, the recipients expressed heartfelt gratitude.

Sheela Sippy, a veteran sevadar recalled, “17th April 1967, Beloved Dada Vaswani visited a Leper’s Home in Alandi. I was witness to the scene that enfolded before my eyes. What a sight to behold it was! Beloved Dada served the lepers with a love so pure, so tender and so divine. 53 years later, his young soldiers – the volunteers, visited a lepers colony again, another place but with the same purpose. Dada had noted:  “Korhiyan mein Qadir dithoseen, lalan lee-aro paa-ey viyo!” which translates from Sindhi as — In lepers, was God seen. He too came to take a look.”

Sadhu Vaswani Mission is conducting all seva activities in compliance with all legal provisions laid down by the authorities.

On blessed Guruvaar day today, 9th April, 400 needy families were given ration. Sadhu Vaswani Mission reached out to remote locations, to provide the necessary.

Overlooking the seva, was a pedestal with the Great Gurus’ frames. The offerings became the source of blessings for the givers and recipients alike.
