Dhanurmasam : Tiruppavai – Pasuram 2
On each day of Maargazhi, one verse from Andal’s divine poem, the Tiruppavai is savoured. Today’s verse, “vaiyaththu vaazhveergaal“, is the second one of the work. And it is the is said to be the continuity of that Paasuram. What I have presented is the surface meaning. Each verse can actually be understood in many poetic and profoundly philosophical ways.

Translation
Paavai! We have got a great varam from the Perumal – being born as humans. There are certain procedures need to be followed from this certain procedures needs to be followed for this Paavai Noanbhu. We should praise the thiruvadi of Sriman Narayanan who is found in Nithirai (sleep) in thirupPaarkadal. We should not give importance for food like Ghee, Milk etc and for beautifying ourselves. Out entire aim should be towards Sriman Narayanan and to get his blessings. We should not think of any bad things not about bad words that hurt others. Lets do some Dharma Kainkaryams and lets think of this Noanbhu, which gives us the great way.”
The first Paasuram tells about the time during which the Paavai Noanbhu to be done and this second Paasuram explains about the procedures / do’s and don’ts during the fasting.
