Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan to set up Punjab’s first underground sewage treatment plant
Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan (DJJS) to set up Punjab’s first underground sewage treatment plant in Nurmahal, Jalandhar. The proposed plant will use the treated water for agriculture purposes. DJJS is already running a 200 acre low budget organic farming model. DJJS is continuously running a lot of programmes in different social sectors. Their head quarters in Nurmahal has always seen a lot of followers in Ashram. To manage the sewage system of Ashram efficiently, the management has decided to make a 12 lakh kilo litre daily capacity plant to handle the sewerage inflow. This plant will be underground and the treated water will be used for farms, sprinkle the land and other utilities. The water coming from Kamdhenu Goshala will also treated here. Apart from that, the ashram has also initiated a project of rain water harvesting. The rain water harvesting will generate 20 lakh litre of water yearly. The whole work will be done by the volunteers of DJJS.
