Dr. Chinmay Pandya, the Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya, Haridwar has been honored for his services as the judge of the prestigious Templeton Prize over the last three years.
Templeton is one of the most prestigious awards, given every year to the people, who portray Scientific and Spiritual Curiosity.
Templeton prize valued at 1.4 million British pounds, is one of the world’s largest annual individual awards, and this year Dr. Francis S Collins has been awarded the prize. This prize was established in 1972 by philanthropist Sir John Templeton and till date 5 Nobel Prize laureates have also been awarded the prize.
Dr. Chinmay Pandya has been a dedicated judge throughout the three years so Heather Templeton Dill, President, John Templeton Foundation, thanked him in her letter and also enclosed a gift with it for promoting the values of the foundation.
In his tweet, Dr. Pandya quoted ” Sincere thanks to @templeton_fdn for acknowledging and offering me the privilege to be the judge for the celebrated Templeton Prize. This honor also goes to the holy feet of Pujya Gurudev and Vandaniya Mataji, without their blessings, this would not be possible.”

Dr. Chinmay Pandya, not only serves as Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya, Haridwar rather he is chairperson of the International Festival of Yoga Culture and Spirituality. Dr. Pandya serves as the governing body of Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), a member of the Advisory Council of AYUSH ministry, part of the Syllabus Restructuring Committee of National Council for teacher’s education, one of the five leaders-part of Global Covenant of Religions (GCR).
He is also invited as a yoga expert by WHO. He has represented India in the Inter-Governmental Meeting of UNESCO on the issue of ‘Intangible Cultural Heritage’ and also serves as Board of trustees of the Indian Development Foundation. This honor of being a jury in Templeton prize in addition to this long list of laurels. Dr. Pandya has set a benchmark to be an ideal youth through his ‘Sadhna and Swadhyay’ He is busy day and night spreading the vision of Param Pujya Gurudev Pandit Shriram Sharma Aacharya and Vandaniya Mata Ji to make this world a better place to live in.
