With Varalakshmi vratam’ just around the corner, cities, towns and villages across Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka are all a frenzy of activity. Varalalskmi Vratam (August 4) kick starts the season of festivals in the Hindu calendar year. The rates of the flowers and fruits have sky rocketed, the shops are giving heavy discounts, Jewelry shops are offering various schemes to woo the woman. Big, small all temples are all decked up beautifully for the Varalaksmi Vratham.
‘Varalakshmi puja’ is performed by woman at their homes with devotion and also at temples and recently many temples are organizing the Puja for the groups. Though the VAralak. shmi Pooja can be done on all Fridays of Sravana Masam, the Friday before the Paurnami is considered the most auspicious. The ‘Puja’ is mostly performed in the morning and sumptuous meal is served to the family members.
TTD is offering the “Samuhika Varlakshmi Vratam” at Padmavathi Temple, Tiruchanoor, Tirupathi. Srisailam Devasthanam, Srisailam, is also organizing a group Puja for the benefit of devotees who want to do the Puja at the temple.
Kanakadurga Temple, Vijayawada is offering “Samuhika Varalakshmi Vratam” for woman both in the morning and evening of Friday. Ashtalakshmi Temple, Hyderabad is also offering the group Vratam for the devotees in the morning.
Sringeri Jagadguru Sri Bhatrathi Teertha SWamy shall be performing the Special Varlakshmi Puja for Sharadamba at the Sri Mutt, Sringeri.
At Alampur, Jogulmaba, one of the Ashtadasa Shakthi Peethams, Sri Dutta Peetham, Yadadri Temple, Simhachalam Temple, Madurai Meenkshi Temple and many other Temples are offering the Varalkshmi pooja opportunity at their premises for the devotees.
