GIWA’s WASH on Wheels During the Kanwar Mela

This week, GIWA’s WASH on Wheels Programme is inspiring thousands of yatris at the Kanwar Yatra to pledge for sanitation for their communities and our nation! Here are just a few pledges!

After watching your program, I have learned how important it is to have toilets in your house. Currently, I don’t have a toilet in my house, but I promise to build one and even teach or spread this message among others to build their own toilets.” Vikas from Bihar

“…We should keep our surrounding environment clean. For example, we should keep the area around our homes clean. We should not defecate in the open. We should use toilets…” Sulendra Kumar, Village Hathiyanwala, Distt. Sri Ganganagar (Rajasthan)

…If there are toilets, every corner of our country will be clean. My wish is that every house should have a toilet… Anil Kumar

“Whosoever is polluting our environment, I will tell them the importance of sanitation and cleanliness, and I will stop them from doing open defecation and encourage them to build their own toilets in their house.” – Baba Raj Puri

I have learned from (GIWA’s) Swachhta Kranti that firstly we need to build toilets in our houses, but before that, we have to bring changes in ourselves because when we will change, then our family will change, then our neighbours will change, then our village will change, then our cities, state and all of India will change.” – Surendra from Chattisgarh
