Mysuru is the first in the country to install the life-size statue of the Sri RamaKrishna Paramahamsa at a public place. The statue of Ramakrishna Paramahamsa is being installed at Ramakrishna Circle at Ramakrishnanagar in the month of November. It will be unveiled in the first or second week by chief minister Siddaramaiah.
The statue was brought to the Ramakrishnan circle recently. Sculptor Arun sculpted the white marble statue at Saraswathipuram in the city. It has been reported that the polishing work of the statue needs to be done. The Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) got the statue sculpted at a cost of Rs 49.5 lakh.
The Milky marble stone weighing 36-tonne was imported from Rajasthan 9 months ago. The Sculptors team headed by Arun Yogiraaj worked day and night at Kashyapa Brahma Shilpakala School premises in Thonachikoppal. Now the sculpture after chipping away the marble to sculpt weights at 16 tonnes.
