Asia Pacific Summit 2018 organised by Universal Peace Federation (UPF) in Kathmandu city of Nepal was inaugurated by Nepal PM HE K.P. Sharma Oli. The four day international conference was also addressed by Prime Minister of Cambodia HE Hun Sen, State Head Myanmar HE Aung San Suu Kyi, President of Nauru HE Baron Waqa, Vice President of Philippines Hon Maria Leonor, HH Head of State of Samoa Vaaleto’a, Governor of Tuvalu HE Sir Lakoba Italeli, Ex Prime Minister India HE Deve Gowda, Ex Prime Minister of Pakistan HE Raza Gilani.

The Prime Minister of Nepal, Shri K.P. Sharma Oli said that his country is committed to maintaining friendly and collaborative relationships with all neighbouring countries, the relations which are based on the spirit of equality and mutual respect. Addressing the inaugural session of the Asia Pacific Summit, Nepal 2018, PM Oli said that Nepal is strive to move forward on the path of social and economic development, which includes the development of all the sections of society and people of all fields. He said that we are moving towards achieving the peaceful and prosperous Nepal.
Acharya Dr. Lokesh Muni said that Faith based organizations can play an important role towards addressing critical challenges of our time as they work with a large section of society and their voice also reaches different sections of society. Presently the world population is faced with challenges like ‘War, Violence and Terrorism’, ‘Global Warming and Depleting Natural Resources’, ‘Inequality, Poverty and Deprivation, and Lack of Value based Education. All religions present solutions to these contemporary problems. Leaders of different religions should come on one platform to bring in a spiritual revolution for solving global problems.
