Sadhu Vaswani Mission serves the flooded-areas in Pune
Rev. Dada J.P. Vaswani’s tender heart has never let him remain indifferent to the suffering of others. During any calamities, Dada’s instant response has been to put together a band of volunteers from the Sadhu Vaswani Mission, often even accompanying them, and immediately rush to the site of the disaster, to provide the required assistance and sustenance. True to Dada’s practice and tradition, teams of dedicated volunteers from the Sadhu Vaswani Mission, in the afternoon of August 5, 2019, took freshly prepared food to the Dhole Patil shelter for the displaced people affected from the flooded-areas. Later, in the evening, the volunteers served hot chappatis and sabzi at the shelter.
The volunteers also visited some of the flooded homes to assess the situation and proactively plan for rehabilitation efforts once the waters recede: such as providing them potable water, cooking aids, and household essentials that would have got washed away.
Today, 6th August, the Mission volunteers served breakfast items toast, biscuits and banana at more relief shelters.
The Mission will continue to provide relief at the shelters and flooded areas until the situation turns normal.
