Bruhadeesvara Temple
The temple is built during the Chola reign and is the tallest temple in the world. It also has tallest Nandi inside the temple. It is located in Thanjavur.
Ramanathaswamy Temple
The temple is located in Rameswaram on the coast of Indian Ocean. The Shiva lingam here is installed by Lord Rama during the war with Ravana.
Meenakshi Temple
The temple is dedicated to Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva, which is situated in Madurai. Parvati is famous as Meenakshi.
Kapaleeshwarar Temple
The temple is located near Mylapore in Chennai and is one of the ancient temples in the city. Along with Lord Shiva temple, it also has several other shrines too.
Jambukeswarar Temple
It is the famous Shiva temple in Tamil Nadu, which is situated in Tiruchirapalli. It is located in the Srirangam island near to the Rangathaswamy temple.

The Murdeshwara temple is located in Uttara Kannada in Bhatkal. The place is very attractive as the temple lies on the coast of Arabian sea. A big statue of Lord Shiva is seen at the premises. It is the second tallest Shiva Statue in India.
Kotiligeshwara
The temple is famous for largest Shiva Linga along with a number of Shiva Lingas installed at the temple. It is located in Kammasandra village of Kolar district.
Mahabaleshwaram
This is the yet another temple in Uttara Kannada district, located in Gokarna. Mahabaleshwar temple is considered as the holy place of Lord Shiva after Varnasi. The temple is popularly called as Dakshin Kasi and is built is Dravidian architectural style.
Kolar Temple
Lord Shiva is famous as Someshwara here. This temple is located in Kolar district of Karnataka. It resemblances the Someshwara temple located in Bangalore. The temple was built during the reign of Vijayanagara empire.
Dharmasthala
The temple is situated in Dakshin Kannada and the deity is known as Sri Manjunatha. This is the oldest temple in the state, which is 800-year-old.

Chaya Someshwara temple
Chaya Someswara Swamy temple, also known by the name Thrikutalayam, is a Hindu temple located in Panagal, Nalgonda district, Telangana, India.
Thousand pillared temple
The temple is star-shaped with several shrines and lingams. There are three shrines inside the temple called the Trikutalayam, dedicated to Shiva, Vishnu, and Surya. Constructed during Kakatiya period, the temple is oldest Shiva temple in Telangana and is an architectural marvel.
Ramappa temple
Ramappa Temple is a famous Shiva temple and more popular for its wonderful architecture. Located in the valley of Palampet village, 77 km from Warangal, this temple was constructed during the Kakatiya era. The famous Perini Natyam has been designed with the help of the frescos on the temple. Even today we have floating bricks in the temple premises.
