Sri Ganapathy Sachidananda Swamiji : The Seer gets his 9th Guinness Record on his 76th B’day
On the occasion of Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji’s 76th birthday celebrations at Avadhoota Datta Peetham in city yesterday, the world’s largest special postal stamp depicting ‘Vishwam’ Museum was released by Sri Swamiji. The original stamp has been recently published by Indian Postal Department under My Stamp category.
In the presence of Sri Swamiji, devotees from all over the world and officials from Indian Postal Department, Guinness World Records, London office representative Swapnil Dangarikar awarded a new Guinness World Record title on the largest stamp yesterday. With this new title, Sri Swamiji has bagged a total of nine Guinness World Records within a span of three years under various categories.
About ‘Vishwam’ Museum
The Vishwam Museum, situated inside the nucleus of Avadhoota Datta Peetham, which houses several unique artefact and collections, was established in 2006. It houses a perplexing collection of archives from various countries as bestowed to the Ashrama by the devotees.
Objects on exhibit include things from musical instruments, minerals, gemstones, crystals, carpets, paintings, and etchings. Few important displays are Ancient Silver Drachm-Coinage in the name of Alexander the Great (336-323 BC), Ancient Ship carved by Chinese sculptors in Chinese Jade Stone, Amethyst Geode from Canadian Rockets of North Canada (previously called “Jurassic area” while Dinosaurs roamed), Ganapathi Idol — stone from Uzbekistan carved in Lahore, Pakistan, Kalinga Mardana made of bronze in a single pour — about 400 years old gifted by the former President of India Dr. R. Venkataraman, Brahma Stamp released during French rule in India, Surya Varna carved on petrified wood, Vishwaroopa — made of single tree trunk, Fossilised Dinosaur eggs, rare formations of qua., rare minerals, sea shells, crystals etc.
Among all Museum collections, one of the most noteworthy category of excellence is Sri Swamiji’s stamp collection — some dating back to 1835. Stamp collections have been categorised under Philately and thematic displays such as animals, flowers, musical instruments, music and art of India, temple architecture in India, stamps collection from 162 countries and golden replicas of USA and Indian classical stamps. Under coins collection, there are regular coins of republic of India, British India coins and post-Independence coins and Indian commemorative coins.
The remarkable stamp collection holds a special place as the association goes back to the time when Sri Swamiji in his ‘Purvashrama’ (when he was Satyanarayana) worked with a Post Office in Metagalli, Mysuru, back in 1960s. Even today, Sri Swamiji in the digital era continues to be a messenger conveying spiritual and moral messages to his devotees and people at large across the world through various platforms including Facebook, Twitter, lnstagram and SGS POSTS, an app where you can register for free and receive his spiritual and moral messages every day in various Indian and Foreign languages.
Swamiji’s Earlier World Records
- 31, 2015 in Tenali, India more than 2,20,000 people gathered together to offer prayers for world peace and the Most People Chanting Together world record was broken when the number reached over 1,28,000 people.
- 6, 2015 Opera House, Sydney, witnessed the wonderful music therapy session, where the lesson was taken by the record number of participants and Sri Swamiji conducted the lesson.
- July 31, 2015, in Frisco, USA, more than 580 people gather to offer prayers for universal peace participating in a continuous marathon chanting lasting for over 24 hours.
- In July 2015, Milpitas, USA has seen the largest Yoga lesson given for the well-being of the society by Sri Swamiji.
- July 31, 2016, the tallest Hanuman outside India, became a witness for the world’s largest online video album with over 40,000 people from 30+ different countries dedicating a prayer chant for the universal brotherhood.
- On May 26, 2017, during the Avatara Vajrotsava, 75th birthday of Sri Swamiji, the largest Hindu scripture was dedicated to the world for inspiring everyone to follow Sanatana Dharma leading to universal collaboration and friendliness.
- The same day Sri Swamiji was offered the World Record title for the largest display of Bonsai trees in December 2016, with a tally of over 2,600 trees during the World Bonsai convention in Mysore Ashrama.
Shuka Vana of Avadhoota Datta Peetham was recognised with a Guinness World Record for providing shelter for over 2,000 birds of 468 exotic species.
