As Karthika Pournami would begin on November 3 afternoon and continue till 11.18 a.m. on November 4, the Srisailam temple authorities decided on Tuesday to open the temple at 2.30 a.m. on November 3 and 4 and after Suprabhatha Seva and Prathakala puja, permit darshan and arjitha sevas by devotees from 3.30 a.m.
Temple Executive Officer Narayan Bharat Gupta held a meeting with the chief priests of Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy and Sri Bhramaramba Devi temples, Vedic pandits and officials and supervisors of all the wings in the temple on Tuesday to discuss the arrangements to be made for the convenience of devotees. : The Srisailam Devasthanam is making special arrangements to meet the heavy rush of devotees in connection with the Karthika Pournami on November 3 and 4, Executive Officer Bharat Gupta said on Tuesday.
The arrangements were reviewed at a meeting attended by the temple chief archaka, Veda pundits and heads of all units, supervisors and staff. Gupta told in the meeting that the staff of all wings should pay special attention to the convenience of the devotees, particularly their stay, queue complex, Annadanam, hygiene and arrangements at Patala Ganga, holding of Jwala Thorana, special Deeparchana at Pushkarini, Nadi Harathi and Pushkarini Harathi.
The other decisions taken by the meeting include offering free food, water and milk to those waiting in queues and give limited tickets for break darshan during the Pournami days. There won’t be Arjitha Kunkumarchana on November 3.
Limited Kalyanam tickets would be given on Friday and Saturday in view of a large number of Sashwata Kalyanalu. On Friday, Pushakarini Harati and Vishesha Deeparchana with 50,000 lamps would be conducted at 7.15 pm. For the first time in the history of the Devasthanam a laser show ’Sivathandavam’ would be conducted near Pushakarini on November 3 evening.
