The meeting of two Spiritual Leaders
As soon as Swami Swaroopananda, Head of the Chinmaya Mission, landed in Pune on June 12, 2017, he visited Dada J.P. Vaswani. Although he has met Dada in the past, this visit was his first after becoming Head of Chinmaya Mission. Both met with love and reverence for each other. Swami Mitrananda of Chinmaya Mission, also accompanied Swami Swaroopananda on this visit.
Swami Swaroopananda said to Dada, “When my Guru, Swami Chimayanand, started his work in Pune he came to seek Sadhu Vaswani’s blessings. After this, he spread his work throughout India and the world. Now, I have been appointed the head of Chinmaya Mission and I too wished to seek your blessings before I started my work.”
In a video address telecast later at the evening satsang, Swami Swaroopananda said, “Today when I met Dada and we were talking about Big Dada, Dada told me, ‘You should have met Big Dada (Sadhu Vaswani).’
I said, ‘Probably I was not even born then, but I met you Dada.’
And, Dada said, ‘But I’m just the dust of his feet.’
I was reminded of Goswami Tulsidas Ji’s Hanuman Chalisa and I told Dada that ‘I got the dust of the feet’ and he just smiled and he said ‘only the dust’.
So I said, ‘Shri Guru Charan Saroj Raj Nij mane mukure sudhar, What else can be the greater purifier of the heart, other than the dust of the feet of the Guru?’
They also paid homage at the Sacred Samadhi of Sadhu Vaswani, the founder of the Mission and saw the Darshan museum, based on the Great Master’s life and teachings.
