Today a three day annual Pavitrotsavam has commenced in Sri Kodandarama Swamy temple at Tirupati with Ankurarpanam. As a prelude to this annual fete, the seed sowing festival was performed in the temple in a religious manner. Medini Puja, Mrisangrahanam, Beejavapanam were performed by the ritwiks with utmost devotion.
On Monday a 10-day Sri Andal Tiruvadippudi Utsavam commenced in Sri Govindaraja Swamy temple Tirupati in a religious manner. The significance of this festival is that Andal Sri Godai was born in the auspicious day on the advent of Uttara Phalguni star in Adi month in Srivilliputtur in Tamilnadu, which is considered most sacred and important for Srivaishnavaites.
The ten day fete which is being since centuries shall conclude on Uttara Phalguni, which fall on July 26. Since this festival takes place in the month of Adi, it is called “Tiruvadippudi Utsavam”. Every day Tirumanjanam will be performed to Andal between 6am and 6:30am followed by celestial procession in mada steets between 5:30pm and 6:30pm.
Meanwhile the other prominent days during this fete includes, Rohini Asthanam on July 20, Sukravara Asthanam on July 21, Snapana Tirumanjanam to Sri Govindaraja Swamy and Andal in connection with the final day fete on July 26 will be observed.
