World gears up for Eid
With Eid-Ul-fitr around the corner, with the holy month of fasting and prayers coming to an end people across the world are gearing for the big celebration. Markets are wooing people with new discounts and sales.
All the shops and boutiques across the world is offering something or the other new products for Eid. Spedcial outfits and designs are being launched by the boutiques. Not just in India but across the world. Markets are thriving.
The Eid mania is just not confined to the traditional markets, even the malls and corporate have started offering special all night sales for Eid. The likes of LuLu Hyper market, Yas Mall have all night shopping offers with heavy discounts.
Many big labels launch their new designs For Eid, in fact Gulf’s Ramadaan month is top on any fashion houses calander. Fabbit.com, Pakistans’s multi label online retailer is celebrating Eid with the month special sale and new designs.
Not to be left behind BSNL has launched a new Eid vouchers in 3G and 4G and Commercial bank has launched e- Gifts for Eid .
Jumat-Ul-Vida, the last holiest of them all
The last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan is called, Jumat-Ul-Vida, it is said that this day a wish, a prayer never go unanswered. This is the holiest of all days in the month. Men throng the nearest Masjids for afternoon prayers in their best attire.
Mecca Masjid, near Charminar is a sight to watch. In fact Government makes special arrangements and diversions are made for the noon prayers so as not to inconvenience the public. The roads leading to the Mecca MAsjid are washed and are lined with white cloths for the people to offer prayers as the MAsjid cannot accomadate the lakhs of people who come to offer the prayer on the special day. It’s a tradition for the men in the family to go and offer the prayers together on this Holy day, hence many schools too give permission for the children.
Its not just that noon prayers but the whole day is devoted for prayers and infact a special Prayers (Ibadat) are offered in the night. As the Holy month of Ramadan is drawing to an end people intensify the payers, and today being the last Friday, its celebrated as the most holy day of the month Jumat-Ul-Vida.
Air lines to fly special fights for Eid on Kerala – Qatar route
The news of aviation Ministry ordering the Air India and Indian Airlines to run special flights for EId from Kerala to Qatar and Qatar to Kerala.
This news comes as a blessing for public on the Eid as there is a blanket ban on Qatar carriers. As the nine countries, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, The UAE, Mauritius, Mauritiana, Yemen, Maldives, Egypt and Lybia have cut of their diplomatic ties with Qatar.
Thanks to the intervention of External Affairs minister Sushma Swaraj, Now the flights on Tiruvananthapuram – Doha and Doha – Cochin have been increased for the benefit of the families for the Eid break.
Syria’s Iftar Party goes viral
Taking advantage of the latest de-escalation deal Adeleh Foundation has organized an Iftar party in the suburbs of Damascus, Syria recently. The photos and video shared by the organization showing the spirit Ramadan amidst the war torn Syria with the back drop of a ruined building is heart wrenching and has been shared by lakhs of people on social media.
The photo and videos shared show a group of people breaking the fast after the day long fast in the evening from all walks of life. There are cab drivers, auto walas, men, woman children can be seen sharing the food and keeping the spirit of Ramadan intact.
Adeleh Foundation is a charity organization based in Turkey and has promised to organize Eid-Ul- Fitr feast too.
