World sees the best of Yoga on IYD 2017

Armed forces celebrate International Yoga Day!

Taking the cue from the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Navy Officers and Personnel of INS Jalashwa and INS Kirch have performed Yoga asanas on board in the morning today commemorating International Yoga Day. The two naval ships are docked in Bay of Bengal, Visakhapatanam.

Similarly, International Yoga Day was celebrated on INS Vikramaditya and INS Viraat in Mumbai Dock Yard too. In fact officers and personnel of Sindhuhugosh Submarine performed Yoga asanas inside the submarine. Chief of Navy Staff, Admiral Sunil Lanba took part in the celebrations in New Delhi with families of Navy personnel.

BSF Jawans too were not left behind; they also performed Yoga in Delhi. The soldiers posted in Siachen have celebrated the day performing the asanas at the Siachen post, which is at the height of 20,000 ft.

Meanwhile, soldiers and personnel at Air force station Bidar participated in Yoga event that was organized as part of International Yoga Day, this morning.

The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) jawans have performed Yoga at a height of 18,000 feet in Ladakh in minus 25 degrees, in the snow covered mountains to mark third International Yoga Day.

Armed Forces posted at Nagpur have enthusiastically celebrated the International Yoga Day. A number of special Yoga sessions have been held in the past few days for Personnel and families. Personnel from Army, Navy, Air Force and NCC have participated today.
Overall, it was a field day for all the Armed Forces Personnel today having performed Yoga at their respective locations braving all odds and climatic conditions. In deed Yoga has become a way of life to many.

South Africa celebrates International Yoga Day

Today in Soweto township, South Africa, Morethan 1200 Yoga enthusiasts have performed Yoga asana’s to celebrate the third International Yoga Day.

Consulate General of India in Johannesburg said that the volunteers of the Art of Living Foundation have helped them organize the event at a park in the town. The participants included many children who got their first taste of Yoga today.

On the occasion Consulate General Dr K J Srinivasa spoke about the benefits of the Yoga and also encouraged the participants to share their experience. Speaking on the occasion, Consul also said that this is a week long programme with the sessions being organized at various venues. It will end with Sunday’s special Yoga session at Tolstoy Farm.

Hyderabad celebrates Yoga

The day started with Yoga buffs and Fitness freaks heading for the nearest Yoga centres. Every colony, every school had planned something special to celebrate the Third International Yoga Day.

Gachibowli Stadium saw more than 35,000 people from various walks of life participate in the celebrations which were organized by Ministry of Health and Family and Department of Ayush. It has Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Telangana State Special Police (TSSP) guiding them to through the asanas.

Speaking on the occasion, Health Minister Laxma Reddy spoke about the benefits of Yoga and its impact on the daily routine for one and all. Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya, Deputy Chief Minister M Mahmood Ali, and others participated in the event.

Governor EL Narsimhan along with officials has celebrated the International Yoga Day at the Raj Bhavan. Speaking on the occasion he said that Yoga should be part of life and is not to be seen as a religious activity.

MLA of Hindupur and popular actor Nandamuri Balakrishna performed Yoga along with the personnel of Indo-American Cancer Hospitals and Research Foundation and Yoga enthusiasts at KBR Park in the morning.
