Appeal for Permanent Flag Post to Furl the National flag at Tilak Samadhi

Activists move HC for setting up a permanent flag post to furl the national flag at Tilak Samadhi

Download Petition: lokmanya-tilak-smarak_wp_final

We have been relentlessly waging a battle for the deserving recognition of freedom fighter and ardent nationalist, the late Shri Bal Gangadhar Tilak, whose memorial (structure) at his samadhi in Girgaon Chowpatty, has stood tall but unfortunately been forgotten in the fast flowing sands of time.

We won a battle of renaming Girgaon Chowpatty as Swaraj Bhumi in 2015 but have not yet received permission for a permanent flag post from the High Powered Committee set up in 2001 by an HC judgement.

Thus we plan to approach the High Court itself to seek immediate relief. It is our humble request to all fellow Indian citizens to join us in our struggle for securing the absolutely deserving justice for the towering, prominent and distinguished persona, the Late Shri Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak and to always keep his memory and legacy alive.

The matter will be up for circulation today, supplementary board and heard by the bench of honourable Justice Gavai. Court room number 43.
