Varanasi
The city is also called as Benares or Kashi, located on the banks of the river Ganga in Uttar Pradesh. It is one of the sacred places of Hindus. Lord Shiva is referred as Kashi Vishwanath here.
Kedarnath
It is located in Uttarakhand. One of the places of Char-dham. People can visit this place through Char-dham yatra. The temple remains closed for six months during winter due to heavy snow fall. The temple lies in between the Himalayan glaciers.
Rameshwaram
Lord Shiva is called as Ramanathaswamy here. It is believed that Lord Rama has established the Shiva-lingam here. It is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas.
Omkareshwar
It is another Jyotirlingas from the twelve. We can find two Shiva temples here one is Omkareshwar and the other is Amareshwar.
Somanth Temple
The temple is believed to be first among Jyotirlingas, which is situated in Gujarat. It is one of the important tourist spots in Gujarat, which was reconstructed in Chaulukya style.
Ujjain
It is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas. The Lord Shiva is famous as Mahakaleshwar and temple is referred as Mahakaleshwara temple.
Deoghar
The temple here is called as Vaidyanath temple and it is located in Deoghar, Jharkand. The temple is famous and its shikaram, which was built in shape of pyramids.
Sri Sailam
Sri Sailam is situated in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh and the Lord Shiva here is referred Mallikarjuna Swamy. It is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas. Godess Parvati is famous as Bhramaramba. It is one of the 18 Shaktipeetas.
Triumbakeshwar
The river Godavari originates from here. Triumbakeshwar is located in Nasik in Maharashtra. It is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas.
Nageshwar
The temple is located in Gujarat and lies amidst the forest, which is called as Darukavana. Lord Shiva is known as Nageshwar and is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas.
