Faith for Earth Main Goals

Faith for Earth has three main goals: to inspire and empower faith organizations and their leaders to advocate for protecting the environment, to green faith-based organizations’ investments and assets to support the implementation of SDGs, and to provide them with knowledge and networks to enable their leaders to effectively communicate with decision-makers and the public.

Faith leaders and Faith-based organizations (FBO) are key and important players to the UN system. This event will build on the ongoing engagement and strengthen the partnership between UNEP as a global institution and the faith communities in India to inspire actions and engage local actors in a meaningful partnership.

Ms. Joyce Msuya, Assistant Secretary General of UN and Deputy Executive Director of UNEP will be hosting the expert religious panellists in this virtual discussion. The aim is to strengthen the momentum in raising awareness and scale-up Nature-Based solutions in preparations for UNEA 5.
