Mahaveer Janma Kalyanak, a significant saint of the Jain community, sacrificed his life to attain moksha. The great guru from the Ikshvaku dynasty is often referred to as Vardhamana. Mahavira was born into the royal Kshatriya family of King Siddhartha and Queen Trishala in Kundalpur of Vaishali. Mahavira left his home and kingdom at the age of 30 to find spiritual awakening.
Mahavira was born in 582 BC according to the Digambara Jain community. Since there is no actual evidence on the birth of the Jain, the people from the community celebrate it on 24th and last Tirthankara in Jainism. Several Jains throng Jain temples all over India to celebrate the occasion referred to as Mahavir Jayanti.
The birthday of the great saint has taken Twitter by storm with wishes. Check out the tweets on Mahavir Jayanti.
