Tirumala gears up for Maha Samprokshanam

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams has geared up to observe the Astabandhana Balalaya Maha Samprokshanam from August 11 to 16 in the temple of Sri Venkateswara Swamy atop Tirumala.  The religious fete is that it is observed once in every 12 years in all the Vaishnava temples which follow the tenets of Vaikhanasa Agama Shastra in temple rituals.

This fete is usually being observed seeking the welfare of the entire humanity. This unique religious fete will be observed under the supervision of Chief Priest of Tirumala temple. Several rituals, poojas, renovation and other events will take place during these days and actually, the entire exercise will be for 48 days. But its effect on pilgrim darshan will be from August 12 to 16. The auspicious muhurat for Asta Bandhana Balalaya Maha Samprokshanam has been fixed by the Aama Advisors. It is in Tula Lagnam between 10:16 am and 12 noon on August 16. The religious event will take place in Old Kalyana Mandapam that is the present Parakamani area located inside the temple.

Venugopala Deekshitulu, where 43 Ritwiks, 100 Vedic sholars and 20 Vedic Students perform homam in 28 homa gundas with utmost devotion reciting Ramayana, Mahabharata, Puranas during these days. Because it is a programme for mandal days, the temple administration has decided to change the timings of counting coin currency from 2 to 11 pm instead of 8 am to 5 pm. The new schedule will start from July 20. During all these mandal days, ornamental and sculptural repair works will be taken up in the main and all sub temples inside Venkateswara temple.

Restrictions

Maha Shanti Thirumanjanam to be performed on August 15 to the main deity and Parivara Devatas

Mandala Abhishekam will be observed for 48 days from August 17 to October 3

During these days, nobody will be allowed darshan beyond Jaya – Vijaya

After Kalakarshana on August 12, even the temple staff will be allowed entry up to Ramulavari Meda

TTD has cancelled all Arjitha Sevas from August 12 to 16

Thomala and Archana Sevas restricted only to Udayasthamana Seva devotees on August 11 and 12

VIP break darshan restricted to only protocol VIPs on August 11 and 12

No break darshan from August 13 to 16

Due to limited darshan period, a maximum of 35,000 devotees can have darshan per day
