Ladakh has been in the bucket list of almost all travellers for various reasons. Ladakh’s beauty is unconventional. Most residents in and around Leh are followers of the Buddhist faith. Venerable Bhikkhu Sanghasena founded Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre and established his way from ground of guns to a platform build with peace to mark the presence of Buddhism as a religion. MIMC aims to revive the heritage of the Himalayas and be a source of truer enlightenment for people from all corners of the globe to garner the inner peace in one and all, to have humanistic, scientific, rational and non-sectarian principles contained in the Buddha’s teaching based on right understanding and the right way.

A glimpse of Achievements of founder president, Bhikkhu Sanghasena
Venerable Sanghasena was honoured by the World Book of Records for promoting world peace at Shanti Stupa, Leh during the valedictory session of the 3 Day International conference organized by MIMC Ladakh on 28 June 2019.
Venerable Sanghasena launched his book, “Echoes from Shangri La”. Shangri la is a form of meditation which is based on the Lord Buddha’s teachings later modified and simplified by most Venerable Sanghasena for the present generation, where a human being can live in the world and practice spiritually and not renounce anything.
He has been awarded several times for his achievements in the past which includes, “National Award for the Welfare of People with Disabilities” in 2000 by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, “Man of the Year 2002” by American Biographical Institute and “World Peace Award for the Year 2004″ by The Gandhi Peace Foundation to name a few
